To all of our wonderful and loyal In Good Taste customers, chef instructors, vendors, and employees:
After a lot of consideration and discussion, we have made the decision to change our business from being a retail cooking store AND a cooking school to focusing exclusively on the cooking school. The nature of the classes that our customers are asking for has shifted away from demonstration classes and towards hands on participation classes (including private cooking events and team building classes). Our location in Lake Oswego is the better venue for those types of classes so we have decided to consolidate our operation in that location. We will however continue to also offer demonstration type classes there as well as in other venues.
Our retail store in the Pearl District will be closing on February 1st, 2012. Starting January 18th, we will be having a liquidation sale with merchandise marked down by as much as 70%. Please shop early for the best selection.
It is a pleasure to be able to tell you that our Pearl District location will not be empty for very long. The wonderful people behind EaT: An Oyster Bar (Ethan Powell and Tobias Hogan) will be opening a second restaurant in the space called The Parish. It will feature oysters and other Louisiana delicacies and will be a great addition to the neighborhood. Any outstanding gift certificates you hold for In Good Taste will be honored for EITHER classes in our Lake Oswego location, OR towards your meal at The Parish.
The last 11 years have been a wonderful time for us here in the Pearl District, meeting so many great customers, and learning tricks and techniques from so many great chef instructors. We are hoping that all of you will continue to join us at the Lake Oswego location, just off the interchange of I-5 and HWY 217 in the Kruse Meadows Shopping Center.
We have a great roster of classes coming up and invite you to sign up and join us: check out our class calendar here.
Thank you all for your support!
